One peel. Every skin type. Real results.
The VI Peel combines TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, and Vitamin C in a single formulation — addressing texture, tone, pigmentation, and fine lines with a safety profile validated across all Fitzpatrick skin types.
Five acids. One highly versatile peel.
The VI Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel developed by Vitality Institute Medical Products. Its formulation combines five active agents — trichloroacetic acid (TCA), retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, and ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) — in a synergistic blend that addresses multiple skin concerns simultaneously. TCA provides the primary resurfacing depth. Retinoic acid accelerates cell turnover and inhibits melanin production. Salicylic acid penetrates follicles to clear congestion. Phenol enhances penetration and provides mild numbing. Vitamin C delivers antioxidant protection and brightening.
What distinguishes the VI Peel from many other medium-depth peels is its validated safety profile across all Fitzpatrick skin types — including darker skin tones (IV–VI) where post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) risk makes many TCA-based peels inappropriate. This is achieved through the specific acid ratios and the retinoic acid's melanocyte-inhibiting effect, which actively reduces PIH risk during the resurfacing process Unlike many peels limited to facial use, the VI Peel can be applied to the neck, chest, back, arms, legs, and even the sensitive under-eye area — making it one of the most versatile medium-depth peels available.
TCA (trichloroacetic acid) — primary resurfacing agent, medium depth · Retinoic acid — cell turnover acceleration, melanin inhibition · Salicylic acid — follicular penetration, congestion clearing · Phenol — penetration enhancer, mild anesthetic · Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) — antioxidant protection, brightening. The combination produces a synergistic effect greater than any single agent alone.
Four types of patients who get the most from VI Peel.
The VI Peel's versatility makes it the right starting point for most patients considering a chemical peel. Here's who it serves best.
The VI Peel is specifically formulated and clinically validated for Fitzpatrick IV–VI skin tones — where many TCA peels are contraindicated due to PIH risk. The retinoic acid component actively inhibits melanin production during resurfacing, making this the safest medium-depth option for patients with darker complexions.
Sun spots, uneven tone, and mild hyperpigmentation respond well to the combined TCA + Vitamin C + retinoic acid effect of the VI Peel. The multi-agent approach dissolves pigmented surface cells while simultaneously inhibiting new melanin formation and providing antioxidant protection.
The VI Peel's well-characterized safety profile and predictable peeling pattern make it an excellent first peel for patients new to chemical resurfacing. The experience — application, peeling timeline, aftercare — is consistent and well-managed with the kit we provide.
Patients with multiple concerns — texture, tone, fine lines, and mild congestion — benefit from the VI Peel's multi-acid approach. Rather than targeting a single mechanism, it addresses all four simultaneously in one treatment cycle.
